Container Gardening expert Melissa King shows you how to create a table-top potted combo that will be the talk of your next garden party.
Here’s what you'll need:
- 1 x Northcote Pottery Cement Lite Bowl in Black (50cm x 25cm)
- 1 x bag of Premium Potting mix
- 1 x Carex 'Frosted Curls'
- 3 x Kalanchoe 'Quicksilver'
- 1 x Ajuga 'Burgundy Glow'
Make a feature if the Carex 'Frosted Curls' at the centre of your bowl. It's an ornamental grass with beautiful silvery-green weeping foliage. Then alternate Kalanchoes in silvery-purple tones and Ajuga 'Burgundy Glow', which has variegated foliage in shades of cream, green and violet, to form a circle around the grass.
Tip: Ajuga 'Burgundy Glow' has the most intense foliage colour through the cooler months and Kalanchoe 'Quicksilver' displays pretty lilac flowers during late winter-spring, so this is a great combo to carry your garden through winter.
